A few basic things to know before you order:

  • Determine whether you need a Solo, Spider, Low Profile, or Bench pedestal

  • On your Solo pedestal, do you want to retain your existing fore/aft slider or spider/slider

If “Yes" then:

  • Existing fore/aft sliders need the Standard model
  • Existing 2 7/8" Spider swivels require the Spider model

If “No" then:

May we suggest ordering the Spider model if you are ordering new hardware, with perhaps a new seat? We recommend the Garelick Spider/Slider Millenium 2000 (part # 21000) for easy installation. No orientation is required on the base or spider mounting.

  • Bench models require a flat surface of 10×5 inches underneath your existing bench or leaning post to properly mount. A minimum of two (2) pedestals is required and can be ordered with either a round or flat-sided base casting. The flat-sided casting has a smaller footprint, which allows a cooler between the pedestals, and shouldn’t stick out on each side of the bench.
  • All models require height measurements taken from the deck surface to the bottom of the seat. Go to the Model listing below to find the corresponding height for your Post selection. Please measure before calling or ordering.
  • The optimum operating weight range is 140-275 lbs of seated weight per Post. Please call us if you have applications outside this weight range.
  • All pedestals have a shock travel of 3 ½ inches for optimal performance and safety. The shock absorber has a stainless steel progressively rated coil-over spring and has proprietary valving for both compression and rebound strokes. That means that the initial compression is relatively soft and gets progressively stiffer. The damper valving senses the speed by which the unit compresses, so it can do its job properly. No Pogo stick here!

Posts are sold separately or in combination with a custom seat made to the desired seat length, width, color, and type of material. Please consult the factory for your special applications. Low Profile Standard Solo

This Low Profile model is designed with all the same features and technology you have come to expect from our Standard Solo pedestals. The advantage of our Low Profile models is that they offer the lowest heights above the deck or mounted atop a box, with the same travel stroke, strength, and swiveling action. The requirement to mount is a 5.25-inch round hole and space below the deck or inside the box. Mount your slider atop the 6.5 x 6.5-inch plate with a standard bolt pattern and/or mount your seat directly to the plate if it accommodates a universal 5.25-inch square bolt-hole pattern. We carry a Low Profile Slider that adds only 1.25 inches to the height.

Heights

  • Model 4111 --- 11 in (27.94 cm) above the deck or 4.25 in (10.79 cm) below
  • Model 4185 ---  8.5 in (21.59 cm) above the deck or 6.75 in (22.23 cm) below

Low Profile Non-Swivel Model

This non-swivel Low Profile post mounts the same as the swivel version. Without the need for swiveling hardware, this non-swiveling version allows boaters to benefit from the same travel stroke and strength you have come to expect from all Seaspension pedestals while achieving the lowest possible height above deck or mounted atop a box. Requirements to mount are a 5.25-inch round hole and space below the deck or inside the box. You may also add a Low Profile Slider that adds 1.25 inches to the height. If swiveling action is a must, you can purchase a Low Profile swivel/slider from us to add to our lowest 6” post. This swivel/slider adds 1.62 inches to the height yet still achieves the industry’s first lowest profile hydraulic dampening system available to recreational boaters.
